After exactly 3 years, it turned on by itself and started to flash the logo screen for about a minute until turning of again. The remote control has no affect on turning it of and the only way was to wait or pull the power cord.
A Liquid Crystal Display TV screen may flicker because of a bad video source, a connection problem or a non-optimal lighting condition. Screen flicker is a fluctuation in the picture quality that either displays bright or dark frames intermittently, without actually showing any content on the screen. Note that flicker caused by things other than hardware problems on LCD screens is uncommon. If you're playing back a recording or a live event, flickering in the original video source also displays on your TV set, because the TV displays what it interprets as the correct image. The program or hardware that handles the video conversion can erroneously include bad flicker frames in the actual recording.
LG 49" Smart TV. About 2 years old. The screen is flickering and not coming fully on. All cables are fine, set top box works perfectly with other TVs. I think a tech would use their experience to diagnose each model. For folk that work on electronics aware of LETHAL voltages and more they could try the old unplug and plug in all the connections method. My tv just started doing this today.

I purchased this LG TV a few years ago now and all of a sudden it stopped working. When I turn it on the LG Logo lighted up real bright on the screen then it goes so dim that you cant see it without using a flashlight. - A flashing picture is a common problem experienced by many different types of TVs. The problem can have several causes, either on the TV itself or on a component device that is connected to the TV.
I was watching TV on it and suddenly the display just went off, the flashed on then back off. At this point the display is primarily off, but flashes on for half a second, then back off. This is happening with the initial screen, on screen menu, and with any input. I opened the back and reseated the internal cables between the 3 boards, but the issue remains. The connectors on each cable are somewhat recessed, so I am not sure of a good way to clean them. Whatever is would normally be displayed is just flashing on briefly until I turn the TV off.
