Sign in. See the list. Title: All This and Rabbit Stew Another entry in the "books come alive" subgenre, with possibly more books coming alive than any other. We begin with some musical numbers, notably the various pages of Green Pastures all Bugs Bunny exploits the situation when an uncle leaves Elmer Fudd three million dollars on the condition that he harm no animals, especially rabbits.

A black hunter walks over to a rabbit hole where Bugs is eating his carrots. Bugs is led to a trunk where he tricks the hunter into destroying the tree. Bugs distracts the hunter after introducing himself, and digs underground and when the hunter realizes that Bugs has his gun. Bugs has the hunter run far enough so he can go down the rabbit hole. Realizing that he has been had, the hunter uses a toilet plunger to catch Bugs.

The seventh cartoon of the Censored Eleven is the third and final one from director Tex Avery, and it is also the only film of the series to star Bugs Bunny. The hunter transforms into a fireball when fleeing a bear at top speed, and he changes into a lollipop after Bugs suckers him into running off a cliff. A new generation of viewers saw Bugs tangle with an African American when the cartoon came to television in , and there it stayed for the next eleven years. So, why was it censored in ? By , however, The Bugs Bunny Show allowed post episodes of Bugs to appear on network television, and he had no other pre episodes on the Censored Eleven list. The removal of one cartoon, therefore, had little effect on his television stardom. Still, Bugs may have vanquished the hunter, but United Artists exiled him to history.

Bugs Bunny is being hunted by a slow-witted Black hunter, very similar in speech pattern and mannerism to Stepin Fetchit. After Bugs outwits the hunter several times, Bugs wins all of his clothing through a dice game. The man then covers himself with only a leaf and remarks "Well, call me Adam. Being part of the " Censored Eleven ", this cartoon has never had an official video release. However, since it is in the public domain, it can be found on unauthorized home video releases, as well as on online streaming sites.

It's notable for being one of the four Bugs Bunny cartoons directed by Tex Avery and being such a controversial racially offensive cartoon that it is included on the Censored Eleven list, a list of 11 Looney Tunes cartoons banned from being distributed or broadcast in the USA, and is also one of the 12 Banned Bugs Bunny cartoons. The plot features Bugs Bunny being hunted by a slow-witted Afro-American hunter who is a hodge-podge of every possible stereotype associated with black Americans at the time. As a result its nowadays perhaps more notorious for the controversy than for its artistic merits. The scene where Bugs fools the hunter with a hollow log over a cliff was re-used in the Bugs Bunny cartoon " The Big Snooze ", only with Elmer Fudd used instead. Should not be confused with the Terry Toons cartoon short of the same name. Community Showcase More. Follow TV Tropes.
