My Three Sons 1960 - 1972 Opening and Closing Theme (With Snippets)

and    what to do with leftover sweet and sour meatballs   season 4 how to get away with a murderer

Even though My Three Sons ran for 12 years, in the grand scheme of classic TV, we really don't hear very much about it. To kick things off, if you're not familiar with it, My Three Sons literally had the most toe-tappin' theme song on TV. Check it out! Fred agreed with two conditions: one, that he would own a percentage of the show, and two, that he only would be required to work three months of each year. In reality, Fred was a dedicated family man, and after years of being away on movie sets had planned to retire early and spend the majority of his time at home. But the money offered by Fedderson was too tempting to pass up, plus it would ensure his children's future, so he signed on to play the widowed patriarch on My Three Sons. Years later several other actors twigged onto this concept and agreed to star in a project only if it was filmed in the "MacMurray Method.

My Three Sons is an American sitcom. The series originally featured William Frawley who had first co-starred with MacMurray 25 years earlier in the movie Car 99 as the boys' live-in maternal grandfather and housekeeper, William Michael Francis "Bub" O'Casey. To keep the emphasis on "three sons", original youngest son Chip's friend Ernie was adopted. In the program's later years, Steven Douglas remarried and adopted his new wife's young daughter Dorothy "Dodie" Dawn Lyn. With episodes produced, it is third only to The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet 14 seasons, —, episodes and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia 13 seasons as television's longest-running live-action sitcom. Disney producer Bill Walsh often mused on whether the concept of the show was inspired by the film The Shaggy Dog , as in his view they shared "the same dog, the same kids, and Fred MacMurray". The show began on ABC in black-and-white.

In , Fred MacMurray was the highest paid actor in Hollywood, and the fourth-highest-paid American. He could play the nice guy or brilliantly explore his dark side in classic film noir like Double Indemnity. By , however, thanks to Disney's The Shaggy Dog , he was the ultimate dad. No wonder that he was cast to lead the Douglas clan on My Three Sons — which also featured a shaggy dog. The sitcom became one of the biggest success stories in television history. Yet it remains somewhat underrated today. Here are some things you might not know about My Three Sons.
