San Antonio, TX 10 Day Weather
First Alert: Small chance of showers before another hot, dry weekendand
Across North America, the upper level wind pattern is shifting to an arrangement more typical of the hot summer months. Strong high pressure is forming over the eastern US while deep low pressure dominates the western half. This will bring cool and stormy weather to the Intermountain West, but hot humid and dry weather for Texas and the eastern US. In the short term, some strong storms are expected to move through North Texas on Tuesday. While most strong storms should be well north of the San Antonio area, some damaging winds and large hail are possible through Tuesday afternoon.

Thunderstorms capable of producing large hail, tornadoes to hit San Antonio Sunday night
FIRST ALERT: Severe weather moves into San Antonio
San Antonio, TX Hourly Weather
The sea breeze is slowly advancing toward our central zone and has had a history of a few showers along it in our eastern zone counties. We also have a couple stray showers in the western Hill Country. Of some interest to me, a complex of storms moved out of Oklahoma into north Texas this afternoon. It appears an upper level disturbance is tied into this complex which has weakened and may develop more storms Saturday in northern Texas that push south through the day. These storms just might survive into the Hill Country by later in the evening. Then Saturday night into Sunday, some modeling indicates this upper air disturbance may try to develop a few storms in our viewing area as it moves southwest toward the border. A definite wildcard in the forecast I'll be keeping an eye on.

Gusts of almost 60 mph and golf ball-sized hail already have been reported in west Texas this morning. The system will head east across the southern Plains from San Antonio toward Dallas, with numerous severe storms predicted for later this afternoon. In an enhanced risk region, there's the greatest chance of damaging wind, large hail and tornadoes, as even outside that region, several storms will be developing from San Antonio all the way to Memphis. The main storm is expected to move north into the Midwest overnight.
