While most of us sit back and relax in the comfort of our homes, our kinsmen across the continent may not have such luxury if we are to go by the news on different news networks. To this end, sectarian conflicts based mainly on ethnic and religious differences rather than principle have taken a toll on us, totally oblivious to the fact that our tribes once shared a certain level of camaraderie and these religions bestowed upon us were very alien, if not; they still are. The conflicts have sired other closely related epidemics that have claimed a fair share of innocent lives such as famine, poverty and disease, which are in most cases used as instruments of sabotage to induce the oppressed bow down in humble supplication to their oppressors. From almost every corner of the continent there is a terrorist group. In the last couple of days I have watched in awe the mysterious bombings in Mombasa and Nairobi in less than 24 hours; the assassination of a Somali minister and another just after 24 hours; the massacre in South Sudan; the enslavement of close to girls by the Boko Haram in Nigeria and the continued split between Muslims and Christians in Central African Republic. Could we therefore call Hitler the grandfather of terrorism? Even if we are to go by semblances of straight forward and peaceful manners; we cannot in the wildest of dreams wish to imagine what goes on in the mind of a terrorist.
But nearly two thousand years before him, another walked this earth whose name is symbolic of love, peace, and life. As I traveled through the sites of the carnage of the Second World War, I was reminded afresh of the horror and the extent of human pain and suffering inflicted on so many by one man and those willing to follow him. The concentration camps, the Gestapo offices, and the gas ovens still speak today of the incalculable price that was paid. Any words that try to describe it become dwarfed because the story is so monstrous. There is no name today more synonymous with power, wickedness, and unprecedented violence than his.
History recorded the pictures of Protestant pastors and Catholic priests giving the Nazi salute. The overwhelming temptation of bowing to temporal gods enticed the church to combine Christ with other religions, Christ and the political agenda, and Christ and worldly pursuits. Was the German era only a foretaste of the greater deception to come? Germany hid the cross of Christ within the swastika. The Christian cross demanded the blood of Christ; the swastika demanded the blood of Jews. The modern cross is a redefined container of mixed philosophies. It is filled with psychology, New Age mysticism, social service, and political correctness.
What apologetic sophistry would be complete without the Argument from Morality? As Zacharias formulates it,. There are two problems here. First, the assumption that objective moral values exist is only God exists is unjustified. The best that one can do is say that since humans attach moral values to actions that are very similar but not necessarily identical across our species we have a common source for our ability to make moral judgements.

Rather, they are directed at particular groups of people, who have been so degraded and dehumanized that they no longer appear to be fully human or to merit the basic respect and concern that other humans command.
