I guess you can say yes to that. Claire is pregnant. But did she ever even have sex with Frank? Like ever? Maybe a few times in their year-marriage.

For how long now? What is the timeframe here and is it even remotely possible she and Frank had relations recently enough to make this happen? On hearing the news, Doug Stamper is properly horrified. A pang of conscience over a trio of murders she recently orchestrated? Ah, but a lot of people have thought that, and by the end of this hour, a few more of them are dead. Let us now pay our last respects to dogged and dog-loving investigative reporter Tom Hammerschmidt, who finally gets the confession he wants from Stamper.

Tom is nowhere to be seen, but his dog is alive and well. As soon as her contact is done faxing documents, he has them shredded. Claire lies to the public and tells them her abortion at 16 weeks was because the fetus was not viable. Claire meets with her all-female cabinet and asks them to introduce themselves. Claire tells us her Acting Attorney General will prove to be very important.

House of Cards: Season 6 Episodes 3 & 4 - Recap & Review

House of Cards season 6, episode 6 recap: Chapter 71

This HoC season has somehow become obsessed with pregnancy. I am underwhelmed by all of this. Claire — technically a Democrat — is living out all these tropes that conservatives use to undermine women: that women are too emotionally unstable to serve as president; that women choose whether or not to carry pregnancies to term for selfish, even arbitrary reasons; that women use pregnancy and childbirth as a way to trap the men in their lives. House of Cards has always been wildly confused about its politics. It was more radical, all along, for Claire to have just not wanted to be a mother — to be unapologetic about that in her public life, and to dare her self-proclaimed progressive political party to question that decision. Why make her change her mind about that at the last minute? Just so she can, what, cut Doug out of a will that she probably destroyed anyway?

Upping the ante one episode after another, until the only space left is occupied by the truly ludicrous and laughable. With Claire making her own cabinet and shirking the influence of the Shepherds, Melody Cruz is allowed to go nuclear. She runs the abortion segment about the one Claire had at 16 weeks, in all of its sensationalized Fox News-esque glory, but it does little to faze Claire. With that out of the way, Claire can focus on what she really loves: punishing everyone around her. She introduces the new U. As for the Shepherds, they seem to have so few moves available at this point. This season has been frustrating when it comes to Doug and Claire, with nearly every episode following a similar pattern: Doug and Claire hate each other, then they realize they maybe both benefit from working together, only to then go back to being enemies.

The sixth and final season of the American political drama web television series House of Cards was confirmed by Netflix on December 4, , and was released on November 2, Unlike previous seasons that consisted of thirteen episodes each, the sixth season consists of only eight. Frank Underwood does not appear in this season, as actor Kevin Spacey was fired from the show due to sexual misconduct allegations. On October 11, , The Baltimore Sun reported that House of Cards had been renewed for a sixth season and that filming would begin by the end of October Production company Media Rights Capital and Netflix stated that production on the show was not affected by the shooting. Production on the series was shut down on October 30, , following sexual assault allegations towards Kevin Spacey by actor Anthony Rapp , who publicly stated that Spacey had made a sexual advance on him in , when Rapp was 14 years old. Netflix announced its decision to cancel the series after the upcoming season, although multiple sources stated that the decision to end the series had been made prior to Rapp's accusation.
