Yes, it has been renewed for season two. Our evil stepmother Elektra has been thrown out of her castle by the king who only wanted her for her special power, and it took an unwanted Cinderella to rescue her. Ugh, this extended fairy tale metaphor is already getting me down. Time to abandon it. Elektra, as we saw last episode, ended up on the streets after losing her long-time john and her apartment.

A defining quality of Pose is its absence of suspense. It is, in many ways, the anti- American Horror Story. The characters here are celebrated and allowed to pursue and even achieve their dreams. Immediately, my first thought was that something bad was going to happen. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. Pose is the revolutionary antidote for that feeling.

POSE Season 1 Episode 8: "Mother of the Year" Reaction & Review - Fan Reaction Fridays

"Mother Of The Year"

Pose has had a wonderful premiere season and not only shattered records, but shed light on a time and place within a world many of us knew nothing about. It gave us joy, heartbreak, redemption, revenge, and basically every emotion in the book—and we fell in love with everything it had to offer. The episode began with showing Elektra struggling to get by day in and day out as she succumbs to working at the Peep World and living on park benches. Blanca finally confronts her and persuades Elektra to take her help and come live at the House of Evangelista for a while. Elektra has another unexpected moment when Damon and Ricky share that they have been chosen to be a part of Al B. She totally fangirls out and tries to make Blanca see how exciting this opportunity is. And this puts Blanca in a tough spot considering she has learned that Damon just got approved for another year of dance school with a full ride, but she supports his decision nonetheless.

The final category is: Mother of the Year and considering all Blanca has done for her children, even her mother, will she win or will there always be next year? Yet, thanks to Blanca, he gets matched with this man, not boy, named Keenan. He is the bartender for the balls and has had his eye on Pray Tell for quite some time but has been intimidated. But, thanks to Blanca, his number gets passed along and before you know it, Pray Tell and Keenan are having a proper date — at a fancy restaurant. However, Keenan notes he has dated positive folks before and with a passionate kiss to Pray Tell, it seems he will again. In this world, there are a swath of things which, upon you having that status, it makes dating daunting. Some things are manageable, like becoming a parent or unemployed.
