Gone Running Gear Review - Salomon S-LAB Sense Ultra 5/8 Setwhat what do you call the thing that holds arrows his and hers silk pajamas
The Salomon S-Lab Sense Ultra is a form-fitting all-purpose trail shoe, with precision fit, reliable outsole grip, and a happy-medium balance between cushioning and feel. In my luggage I had room for just one pair of running shoes, and therefore needed a well-rounded model that would be comfortable for a week straight and that would perform well wherever and whenever I could get out for a run, whether that meant pavement, hiking trails, or sheep trails, or dry, wet, or muddy. I considered the original Salomon Sense Pro my long-term review , which for several years has been my favorite all-around running shoe, but instead went with the new Salomon S-Lab Sense Ultra , which fit similarly and have an equally wide range, albeit more trail-centered. Expect precision handling, reliable outsole grip, and a happy-medium balance between cushioning and ground feel. It was a mile 5. The route included a bit of everything:. Due to its versatility and long-term comfort, later this month I plan to wear the Sense Ultra in the Bighorn in Wyoming.
Designed for ultrarunners , the shoe features an internal sleeve that wraps the foot in a snug cocoon, keeping you firmly in place while allowing the shoe to respond when your feet swell over hours on the trail. One tester found that this addition meant he no longer needed to stop and switch out his shoes during his ultra races, saving him both time and a huge hassle on the course. Testers found that this made the shoe extremely comfortable, and those with narrower feet especially appreciated the extra snug fit. It rolls over rocks without creating hot spots, even over longer distances. While the Ultra is not expressly a stability shoe, several testers found it offers excellent support when covering long miles on trails. While some testers wanted deeper lugs and a more rugged outsole, others liked that the smoother tread made the shoe more versatile across a wider variety of terrain. Fans of traditional lacing thought the cinched, locking laces would take some getting used to, but did agree that there was no chance of them coming untied during runs.
We spent 9. In summary, this is what runners think:. The Salomon S-Lab Sense Ultra is a premium unisex, trail running shoe that has received plenty of positive reviews from those who have tried it. Users liked its durable construction, the apparently comfortable cushioning system, and the Quicklace system. Testers were also impressed by the secure fit delivered by the upper.
